As a part of our Leadership Team, QVMC
is proud to share with you a few of our staff members.

Connie Hubbell
Director of Nursing
Raised in Montana on
a ranch, 4 children, 7 grandchildren. I began my career as a Director of
Nursing in the Long Term Care setting in 1990. After 10 years I became a
traveling consultant for Montana Health Network facilities that were
having survey issues. While on assignment to a “very challenging”
facility, I met and worked with Mehdi Merred. Our work together was very
successful and enjoyable. I hoped that one day we could work together
again. In 2004, I quit traveling and went to work in Saint Vincent’s
Hospital, and shortly after received a call from Mehdi as he was looking
for a DNS. My decision to come was made quickly; I packed up my Mom and
Dad and we all moved to Quincy.

Colleen Canfield
Director of OR
SageView Clinic
Supervisor
The daughter of a
Navy Dad, Colleen Canfield frequently moved throughout the
United States and
Scotland. Eventually, Colleen's family settled down in the small
town of Gautier, Mississippi, two hours outside of New Orleans,
where she lived for 12 years. In 1991 Colleen began her work as a
nurse on the cardiac floor of an area hospital. Soon after,
she transferred to Surgery, where she remained for 16 years.
In 2001 Ms. Canfield decided she wanted to try the management side
of nursing and returned to school to receive her Bachelor's Degree
in the Science of Nursing. Colleen and her family moved to Quincy in
2007 to help develop the new surgery program at the Quincy Valley
Medical Center. "I wanted to enjoy the challenge of starting a
program from the beginning", said Ms. Canfield. "I loved the
people here when I came for my job interview. Quincy is a very
special, community-oriented town that has a lot to offer the right
type of person. I'm glad to be here."

Nick
Mason, ARNP
Quincy has been Nick's
home-away-from-home for many years. He started working as a
Registered Nurse in the Quincy hospital back in 1992 where he worked
in that capacity for over five years. He witnessed the birth of many
of Quincy's children and helped many of Quincy's residents with
accidents and illnesses.
While working as a RN he also attended classes at Gonzaga University
in Spokane and earned his Master's Degree in Nursing as a Family
Nurse Practitioner and then nationally certified through the
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Immediately thereafter he
practiced as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the Quincy
Valley Clinic from 1998 to 2002.
Nick and wife Judy, who is a retired RN from Wenatchee Valley
Medical Center, still call Leavenworth Washington their home. Since
Judy's retirement three years ago they have wintered in Arizona
where Nick has practiced in a busy Occupational Health Clinic and,
last winter, in a busy Internal Medicine Clinic. Their second home
is in Yuma, Arizona.
Nick is happy to be back
in Quincy to help staff the new SageView Family Care Clinic during
the summer of 2008. He appreciates the many positive changes in the
clinic and believes that the positive and professional attitude of
the current health care providers, clinic staff, and administration
has created a real asset for the Quincy community. Nick will be here
through September 26th, 2008.
